Silverguard™ is a great all-weather fabric used by Coverking for their custom car covers. Silverguard™ is a special woven polyester fabric made with 300 denier yarn (twice as thick as similar fabrics) with a thick, silver reflective urethane coating on the outside. The polyester material is non-scratch and the urethane outer coating should withstand extreme sun for years.
MATERIALCoverking developed Silverguard™ to address the middle-market with special consideration for sunny climates. Silverguard is also fairly compact and water resistant, so it is a great all-round cover.
CONSTRUCTIONCoverking uses wax coated thread in overlapped, double stitched seams. The wax coating expands in the pierced hole created during the stitching process, to help cover the hole. Competitors take the cheaper route by using an ultra-sonic welding of the material instead of sewing. This process is far cheaper, because it melts the fabric layers together. It also doesn't use any thread. Unfortunately, the area melted together becomes very hard and examples of scratching the vehicle surface are not uncommon.

CARE and CLEANINGSilverguard™ car covers can be easily cleaned by washing while on a vehicle. Use common carwash detergent, and air dry.
